Privacy Policy
Effective 13 October 2026 · Applies to the DoneJot iPhone app and this website
The short version
The DoneJot app
DoneJot (previously called DayFlow) is made by Abiodun Michael Adefusi, an independent developer in Austria (“we”, “us”). We are the controller for the little personal data described on this page.
Everything you create in DoneJot (tasks, notes, links, checklists, routines, focus sessions, statistics and settings) is stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. If you use iCloud Backup, your iPhone may include DoneJot's data in your encrypted backup to Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes its data from your device.
DoneJot does not use analytics, crash-reporting or advertising services, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
Permissions
DoneJot only asks for a permission when you use a feature that needs it. You can change any of them later in the iPhone Settings app.
| Permission | What DoneJot does with it |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Reminds you before and when tasks start, asks whether you finished, and sends your morning and evening nudges. Scheduled on your device. |
| Alarms | Rings a full-screen alarm for tasks you mark “Ring alarm”, using Apple's AlarmKit. |
| Calendars | Reads events from the calendars on your iPhone (including Google or Outlook accounts you added in Settings) to show them in your plan and answer questions about them. If you turn on “Add my tasks to a DoneJot calendar”, it writes your tasks to a calendar named DoneJot. Calendar data stays on your device. |
| Screen Time | Used by Focus Lock to block apps you haven't allowed during a focus session. Apple gives DoneJot anonymous tokens instead of app names, so we can't see which apps you use, and no usage data leaves your device. |
| Location (while using the app) | Used to work out how long it takes to get to a task's place, so DoneJot can tell you when to leave. DoneJot asks for your location only while you're using the app, never in the background, and doesn't keep a history of where you've been. Places you save (like “Home” or “Uni”) are stored on your iPhone. |
| Live Activities | Shows the running task's countdown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. |
| Siri & Shortcuts | Lets you add and check tasks by voice. Apple processes Siri requests under its own privacy policy. |
Apple Intelligence
The assistant, quick add, “Plan my day”, the daily briefing and the coach use Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Your messages, tasks and calendar details are processed on your iPhone and are not sent to us or to any AI provider. If Apple Intelligence is turned off, DoneJot uses built-in rules that also run entirely on your device.
When DoneJot uses the internet
DoneJot works offline. It only connects to the internet in these cases:
- Checking suggested links. When DoneJot suggests a link for a task (for example a YouTube channel or a website you mentioned), it may request that public web page to check that it exists before showing it. The request contains only the page address, such as the channel name you typed.
- Places and travel times. When you give a task a place, DoneJot uses Apple Maps to find it and to calculate the travel time. Apple receives the place you searched for and the start and end points of the trip, under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive this information.
- Opening links you tap. Links open in Safari or the matching app, under that service's privacy policy.
- Optional iOS Focus shortcuts. If you set them up, DoneJot asks the Shortcuts app on your iPhone to switch your Focus on or off.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Apple tells the app only whether Pro is active on your device.
This website
This website is hosted by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.), which processes your IP address and basic request data to deliver the page and protect its service, as described in GitHub's privacy statement. We do not use cookies, analytics or third-party fonts.
To show prices in your currency, the page reads your device's time zone and language inside your browser. Nothing about this is sent anywhere. If you pick a country, that choice is remembered in your browser's local storage on your own device.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we receive your name, your email address, the country shown in the pricing section, your browser's language and the time you signed up. We use this only to email you when DoneJot launches, and to understand roughly where interest comes from. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
Sign-ups are stored in a Google Sheet in our DoneJot Google account, and we get an email for each one (before the sheet is connected, sign-ups reach that inbox through FormSubmit, formsubmit.co, a form-to-email service). Google and, where used, FormSubmit process them on our behalf. We never sell or share your email. We delete the list once the launch announcement has been sent, or earlier if you ask. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us or replying to our message.
Children
DoneJot isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you (in practice, only a waitlist entry), restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, dsb.gv.at) or your local authority.
Changes to this policy
If DoneJot starts handling data differently, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
